The story of Simply Bee is intertwined with family history.

It all started with our dad, Derick Hugo who had been a passionate hobbyist beekeeper since 1954.

Upon his retirement Derick and Marie Hugo returned to Hopefield in 1994 and transformed their beekeeping hobby into a business.

In 2008 the next generation became involved with Pierre and Helena van der Westhuizen continuing with the proud family legacy.

Due to her having a sensitive skin herself, Helena set out to develop an all-natural range of beeswax products, using only the raw materials from their own hives.

The main aim was to create a range free from harmful chemicals, synthetic fragrances and parabens, making it both safe and environmentally friendly.

Simply Bee started off with only 5 products in our range back then and, due to public demand, it has expanded to an over 150 product-range.

Our product range now includes:

Hand & Body Products, Facial Skin care range, Baby Products,  Men’s products, Hair products, Soaps & Candles, Ointments and Balms, Propolis Products, Polishes and Gift Pack combinations.
